Natural Reserve “Afrika” & raptorial bird park Buchs

What a wonderful day with my best friend visiting Natural Reserve “Afrika”, raptorial bird park Buchs SG, mansion Werdenberg, Chapfensee (lake Chapfen) and finally having dinner at Walensee (one of the larger lakes in Switzerland).

I even got the chance to hold a white-headed eagle on my hand! That was just amazing!

have a lovely Sunday everyone!

circular Track around lake Zurich – Part 1

Today we did Part one of a circular Track around lake Zurich.
In the morning we started from Zurich Burgwies, passed Rumensee (a small lake), had a look at Wulp ruins  and continued to Blüemlisalp (a Restaurant on the hills in Herrliberg). Along the way we saw a lot of beautiful things at which you can have a look yourself below.
There were also some small rivers in the forest with waterfalls and many fireplaces to take a rest at.
For today we stopped our tour in Meilen, but I’m sure I’ll continue it some time!

We have a saying here: Why seek far afield when the good could not be any closer by?

Have a beautiful day!

Markthalle Altenrhein

Despite having night-shifts I couldn’t stay in bed during such a wonderful sunny day!

So I took a quick trip to Bodensee and Hundertwassers Markthalle in Altenrhein, which has an airport next to it. (to explain why there’s a picture of a not flying plane..)
The Markthalle is a lovely building with lots of different colours, uneven floors and golden roofs, as it is typical for Hundertwassers architecture. The bottle-windows in the wall gave a fascinating light, even though it was a bit dark inside.

On the way to the lake I saw a Train on a truck and overtook it later on my way home on the freeway! Never seen a train on the freeway in Switzerland before..!

Storytelling

Last week was the annual Geschichtenoase in Zürich. It’s a week of storytelling in Zürichs old botanical Garden. This time I heard stories from Sibylle Baumann,  Nick Hennessey and Emily Hennessey with music by themselves as well as Anna-Maria Hefele and Manuel Elias Büchel.

I love storytelling a lot. Those wonderful storytellers perform in a way they have my full attention and I can let go of anything else and just enjoy the moment. The stories are fascinating and touching at the same time and the events were booked out by people who love storytelling as much as I do. It was a wonderful atmosphere!

Thanks to Sibylle for organizing this great event and I’m already looking forward to next years Geschichtenoase!

Thermal bath Bad Blumau, Graz & Bärnbach

Friedensreich Hundertwasser is one of my favorite architects and the thermal Bath in Bad Blumau is a little paradise! There are so many details to discover everyday!
The church in Bärnbach is one of Hundertwassers masterpieces as well and I love it. So this week was an amazing time out and I enjoyed it a lot.
The hotel staff did its best and contributed to my Moms birthday with a wonderful breakfast on a table prepared with so much love, it even had a heart shaped little cake with a burning candle on it as well as a golden chair for her!

Zürich

Yesterday we did a little autumn tour through Zürich, followed by unplugged concerts of Long Tall Jefferson, Gabrielle, Gavin James and Aloe Blacc. What a fantastic day 🙂

Wish you all a great weekend!

And for those with some spare time: google Marc Amacher, a swiss guy in the show “the voice of Germany”, it’s definitely worth a watch!

Vierwaldstättersee & Luzern

It’s been quiet around here..
I had a nice summer with great Openairs (Allmend rockt, Greenfield, Bluesnjazz & Zürichopenair) as well as concerts (Hang Massive, Black Sabbath, Airbourne, Nickelback), Zürichfest, two nice weddings and some great trips (Salavaux, Salem, Kreuzlingen, Car-cinema in Muri, Rigi, Bern) and much more.
But I’ve been hardworking as well. That’s why I didn’t take the time to blog..
Anyway, I’ve had an awesome day yesterday on Vierwaldstättersee and in Luzern and wanted to share this:
