Arosa

Last Saturday we did the squirrel-path in Arosa. We fed the squirrels with hazelnuts which they took from our hands, ran away to dig them in the ground and came back to get another one. In the meantime some birds ate the the hidden nuts and also the ones we offered them.

Later we did a downhill hike from the top to the middle cable car station. The landscape and the view across the mountains are amazing!
And for those who haven’t seen the Toblerone-bear in its logo, I took a picture of it for you.
As a special surprise we even saw the bear Napa (a 12 years old bear who got recovered from a life in a circus) in it’s new open-air enclosure!

Prättigau

Prättigau in the canton of Graubünden is a lovely area and perfect for hiking and enjoying mother nature. A place to forget about your job and just feel, see, smell, taste and listen.
And how good it was to spend a few days with my best friend and walk, talk, eat and play cards with her.
If you visit Graubünden, make sure, you’ll try Capuns (a local speciality), it’s delicious!

Pilatus

From Alpnachstad leads the worlds steepest (48%) rack railway up to Pilatus. From up there the view is terrific! You can see many lakes and far into Switzerlands countryside.

An insider tip is the café on the bottom of the railway, they have one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had. (with real vanilla and the strawberry one had fruit pieces in it!)

And of course the weather up there is colder than the heat in the city. Just don’t forget sun-protection (caring advice from a nurse).

Toggenburg

Toggenburg is a lovely area of Switzerland. It has a “sound path” which lets you experiment with a variety of uncommon instruments to create a sound.
The view from the mountains is just wonderful.

One delicacy there is called “Schlorziflade”. It’s so yummy, you have to try it if you get the chance to. It’s made of some sort of cream and pear-mousse and pretty sweet.

Stanserhorn

Today was a wonderful day with my parents at Stanserhorn (1900m a.s.l.).
Even though there were clouds and dust, we had some great views from the mountain. The “Aelplermagronen” (a Swiss dish) were yummy and the drive on (yes we were on top of!) the “CabriO” car of the cableway was awesome!
I saw a man wearing a shirt that was printed with “Love > Hate” (Love is bigger than hate). I really like that one!
Familytime is important to me. Thank you both for that lovely day.  : )
