Ticino

Three impressions of our time in Ticino (the southern part of Switzerland where Italian is spoken)
The Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli (the red one) on Monte Mamaro and the church in Mogno (the black and white one) were designed by the architect Mario Botta. Both are impressive buildings, offer a lot of opportunities to learn photography, give room for calmness and are definitely worth a visit.
The Tremola Pass to St. Gotthard reminds me of a great time with my best friend when we took that road. Usually one takes the newer road. Passing St. Gotthard offers a great view on the surroundings.

Provence – Lavendar

We had wonderful holiday in Provence. Here are some impressions of lavendar fields around Valensole, Sault and Abbey of Notre-Dame de Sénanque.

The Pictures give an impression of the huge fields, which look very different depending on the angle of view. It makes sense to know the difference between Lavendin and Lavender, when you travel to the area.

Morgestraich 27.2.2023 in Basel

The Basler Fasnacht starts on the Monday after Ash Wednesday at precisely 4:00 am with the Morgestraich. All the lights in the old town of Basel are turned off, the only light remaining comes from the lanterns of the Cliques. The Fasnacht lasts for 72 hours and ends on Thursday morning at 4:00 am. Basler Fasnacht is often referred to as the three most beautiful days. The parades taking place on Monday and Wednesday afternoon are called Cortège.

Basel 26.2.2023

We arrived one day before Fasnacht and had a lovely day in Basel.
“Zämme im Taggt” (Together in time) is the theme of this years “Blaggedde” (badge).
The three kings of a famous hotel transformed to “Waggis”.
Only “Lällekönig” (tongue-king) still observes the scene from his corner.
