Aussie-Shopping in Switzerland :D

Today I went for a little Aussie-shopping after work 🙂 yummy things indeed!

It’s wonderful sunny weather and around 20°C! Great for a little lunch at Sihl, which is a river in Zürich that joins into Limmat, the largest river in Zürich. The name “Sihl” stems from the Celtic and means “strength”

The sun sets around 6:15pm and I’ve enjoyed sunset from my hammock on the balcony almost every day this week 🙂
And as the weather forecast says it’ll be 5°C and rainy on Sunday.. weird.. 😉

Autosalon Geneva

Yesterday was a wonderful day with my best friend! We went to Geneva to have a look at the car-show “Autosalon” and take a stroll at the lake afterwards. The weather was fantastic (around 14°C) and it starts to feel like spring. 🙂
On top of that was the long drive a real pleasure, it reminded me so of my days driving long distances with Troop.
Mentioning him, he’ll be for sale in May somewhere on Australias west-coast, I hope he’ll find a good new owner.

The following three cars were my favorites on the show:

The “Jet d’Eau” is one of the largest fountains in the world. Five hundred litres of water per second are jetted to an altitude of 140 metres. The water leaves the nozzle at a speed of 200 km/h. When it is in operation, at any given moment there are about 7,000 litres of water in the air. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jet_d%27Eau 11.3.2014)

Christmas time

I’m spending December enjoying Christmastime here, it’s so much more enjoyable after a year of Christmas in Summer 🙂
(I still prefer the summer but why not enjoy what’s here?)
There are still the same lovely Christmas markets with shiny decorated trees and stalls, the smell of mulled wine, gingerbread and raclette.
It’s fascinating to watch stressed people being worried and then smiling after seeing something beautiful or tasting something yummy.

During my holiday I spent two evenings of Wine degustation comparing Swiss and foreign wines and enjoying delicious food our host made for us! Once more I’ve realized, that we have amazing Swiss wines here but I still prefer a good Aussie one. 🙂  😉

Anyway, I wish you all a wonderful and peaceful Christmas
And thank you mum for that awesome advent calendar!

Because it got cold I’ve even built a house for me! .. a bit small to live in it.. 😉

another day at the lakes

It’s slowly getting autumn, there’s snow on the mountains and my hands feel cold..
But we had good luck and during our walk around Türlersee we got a few sunrays through the clouds. Some fisherman caught one fish and one runner crossed our way. Apart from that it was just nature and us. Nice!
Later at Lake Zürich the weather got a bit better and I took a pic of the snow-covered Mountains for you. As I didn’t have my Nikon with me it’s just a mobilephone-pic.
As soon as I arrived at home I’ve set up my new hammock-stand and enjoyed the so missed feeling of chilling in a hammock, wish you a good weekend!

Amazing Weekend to remember

My last weekend was so great!
It started with tasty sushi, continued with an awesome Macklemore concert (13’000 people having fun and dancing. Even all the people with seats were standing!) and got to the top with a relaxing camping-day with the Landcruiserclub and friends from the Landroverclub.
It was so good to talk about Troopies and other fascinating 4WDs again!
And see pictures of tours around the world.. so many places to see!
Life is definitely to be enjoyed! 🙂
So do it and fulfill your dreams!
(Or keep on waiting till someone else is gonna do it for you ;))

Mullum Australia

It’s a wonderful day off and I went for a nice drive past “Türlersee”, “Zürichsee” and “Zugersee” (see means lake).
Sadly it was a bit cloudy, so I didn’t take pictures for you..
The destination was “Mullum Australia”, which is a Shop in Rapperswil that sells Australian products for people like me 😉
They sell Vegemite, Bundy-rum, VB, XXXX, clothes, souvenirs and a lot of other things 🙂
Of course I bought a jar of Vegemite. It’s so good to taste it again, I really missed it!
And I bought some Australian cookie cutters, so I can make kangaroo-, koala-, crocodile- and australia-shaped Christmas-cookies in winter 😀 That’s gonna be fun!

here’s a picture from last week, it’s a water buffalo at “Flachsee”

Leonard Cohen

Tonight I saw Leonard Cohen live in concert with his band. That was an amazing evening! They didn’t have an opening act, so they played 2.5hrs (excl. break) full of high level music with many great solos not only of the band members but also the “background” singers!! One of them was Sharon Robinson, who sang “Alexandra leaving”. Leonard sang and performed wonderful and I think a lot of young artists could learn a lot from him.
The crowd was in a good mood and in the end most of us were standing/dancing in front of the stage or between the seats.
Thank you Mami for a memorable evening! 🙂
