Gampel

Four days of Openair-Gampel were so awesome, I can’t even say what the highlights were, because the festival was a highlight all in all!!
Not to mention the warmhearted people, amazing surroundings and the perfect weather!
The drive home along Grimsel mountain pass was the perfect ending of that great time!

so here’s just a list of what performances I really enjoyed (following the order of the time they played):
Thursday:
Allys Fate
Royal Blood
A Day To Remember
Skindred
SKA-P (great music but the dancefloor was a bit to crowded)
Volbeat (including a big fireshow)
Turbonegro

Friday:
Sinplus
Lo & Leduc
Itchy Poopzkid (pure punk)
Reel Big Fish
Fettes Brot (usually not my style of music, but hey they were great!)
Heaven Shall Burn (hard music but it was packing!)

Saturday:
Open Season
American Authors
Frank Turner and The Sleeping Souls (he even sang a song in Swiss-German!)
Blacklist Royals (just great! bought 2 CDs straight away and got autographs of them πŸ™‚ )
Die Fantastischen Vier (anniversary show)

Sunday:
Ritschi (especially the song “Γ–pfelboum u Palme”)
Kadebostany (just wow!)
The Kyle Gass Band (loved the song “Bro Ho” πŸ˜‰ and all the rest!)
Casper
Krokus (great old swiss rock!)

Salsa, Milow and Ed Sheeran

My legs are pretty sore from dancing πŸ™‚
I’d say that’s a good sign of a great weekend πŸ™‚
We were doing a salsa course (2x3h), which was intense and a lot of fun!
Salsa-music just gives me the feeling of being on holiday! πŸ™‚

on top of that we were in Lucerne to the Blueballs Festival where Ed Sheeran and Nina Nesbitt played
and as if that wasn’t enough we went to Salem (Germany, near Bodensee/Lake Constance) to watch Milow and Imany (Nadia Mladjao)!
Ed Sheeran and Milow were fantastic main acts and Imany surprised me with an awesome voice and performance!

All in all it was a really busy weekend but I’d do it again immediately!
Music and dancing make life so much more enjoyable!
So please put on some great music and move your body πŸ™‚

Openair St. Gallen

Another awesome openair-festival, which was in St. Gallen from Thursday till tonight, was giving me happy moments and great memories!

Highlights for me were:
Flogging Molly
Ellie Goulding
The Black Keys
Dubioza Kolektiv
Skindred
Min King
Reignwolf
Thees Uhlmann & Band
Imagine Dragon

We were lucky with the weather, only today it rained the whole time except for when the last band Imagine Dragon played “on the top of the world” the sun came out and gave a special moment an even more special note πŸ™‚
The food at the Festival was great, I got to taste Ben and Jerry’s “Fairly Nuts” and “Peanut Butter Cup” which were yummy, the first one more than the second. Furthermore I had my first “Stangenfondue” with Appenzeller-cheese, that’s a hot-dog-bread filled with cheese-fondue, I can really recommend it!
Also new for me was the Cashless-pay-system with an RFID-chip on the wristband. It’s quite handy not to get out the wallet all the time but I still don’t like the RFID-chip and what data they could collect. Moreover I think people return bottles and glasses more likely if they got the money back in cash.
On my way home westwards the sunset began and in the back-mirror I saw a wonderful rainbow.

It was an amazing weekend! I hope you had a great one too!

Greenfield

From Thursday till Sunday was the tenth Greenfield festival, for me the first one and it was amazing!
It was a new experience to have a LIDL (shoppingcentre) on the festival area and be able to buy almost everything you need fresh from the shop. The fireplaces were nice and we had our daily lunch-barbecue πŸ™‚
Around 24’000 visitors were there and the weather went from sunshine to hail.. but with the right equipment we couldn’t be bothered.
The only sad thing was the way people threw their rubbish to the ground expecting someone would clean up later anyway..
The music was great, my personal favorites were Dropkick Murphys, Broilers, Sabaton, Iron Maiden, Clutch, Sepultura, Saltatio Mortis and Soundgarden.
Some of the music styles were new to me and I didn’t like everything, but I really enjoyed the time in Interlaken! Maybe next year again, we’ll see πŸ™‚

Wonderful weekend

That was a pretty busy but wonderful weekend!
It started with a yummy fresh self caught grilled trout in Forellenhof Kienberg, continued with a walk along Sihl, then a visit to Seleger Moor, Medieval Festival in Weil am Rhein, Thermalbad & Spa ZΓΌrich and to the Circus Knie πŸ˜€ It almost felt like a whole week of holiday and all of it was just amazing!

Cherry Blossom Path

Yesterday I went to “Fricktal”, which I sometimes call “freaktal”, because it’s where some freaks come from. πŸ˜‰

Very good Kirsch (cherry-schnaps) comes from that area and now the cherry trees are so beautiful! Of course there are also yummy cherry jam, cherry flans or just raw cherries. πŸ™‚

We’ve set the clocks to daylight saving time one week ago, so sunset is now around 8pm and April comes with its normal mixed weather πŸ˜€
